Who is God?
It is an age old question that has been asked throughout the generations, who is God? Most would have heard about or would have stumbled upon the topic of the deity.
The elementary answer is that God is a Spirit living being that has unlimited power. God is also full of knowledge and wisdom and has the capacity to perform anything, as stated in:
John 4:24 - God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The emphasis is on the living, the true God is an actual living being just like us. In addition to that truth, there is only one God in our universe and that loving person is the God of the Christians. As stated in:
Jeremiah 10:10 - But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king:....
However, God is more than just a supernatural being that has power, God is first and foremost love. As state in:
1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Our good Lord loved us so much that he gave us life, we are alive today because God decided to include us within his plan of existence. God knows every aspect of us and knew us from the day we were born. As stated in:
Jeremiah 1:5 - Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Meaning God was with us from the first time we opened our eyes to this day. God has been with us always, and he will always be with us.
Not only did God give life but he also provided a home for us to live on, the planet earth. He also ensured that we had an abundance of resources for us to live a peaceful and harmonious life.
Wherever we are on earth, into whatever country we reside in it was only by the love of our God that it was made possible.
God in his infinite power is also a creator, he has the capacity and the ability to bring things into existence. God alone created all the natural elements that we see with our human eyes.
This begins with the heavens, the stars, the sun, then the earth, the plants, to all the wildlife, the birds, and everything that is around us. As state in:
Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
and also in:
Jeremiah 32:17 - Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by they great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
There was nothing that exists today that was not created by God. All the things in Heaven and everything in the human universe was brought forth by the Lord God.
God also has the ability to bring us back to life. Jesus has the capacity to give us eternal life in Heaven and will resurrect us all in the last day. As stated in:
John 11:25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
and also in:
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Finally God is about relationships, for God came down to earth and lived on earth as a human for about a period of 33 years. In that time the good Lord Jesus taught us, healed us, set us on the right path and gave us hope in a growing hopeless world.
This is who the true God is, and his name is Jesus, a God that loves his creations and continues to speak to his followers.
